It has a curve on the bottom that feels natural to grip, along with a piece that juts out underneath the touch screen to make it easier to hold. It's a lot more comfortable than the remote that came with my TV. There's a covered micro USB port on the bottom, in between two metal contacts that let you charge the remote in an included cradle. The controls on the remote let you change the color temperature of the bulbs -- from a cool white to a warm white -- but don't let you change the color outright. However, using the Harmony iOS app, I liked that I could control the colors of the Philips Hue lights, and not just their overall brightness. The Logitech Harmony Ultimate Home remote can control a universe of smart home devices as well as your TV.
It made the occasional misstep, such as suggesting the Sonos Play 1 be used in home-theater mode, even though that’s not possible. Thankfully, you can add or subtract items from an activity simply by checking a box. On the remote control, you can switch between each piece of equipment by making a selection from a list of devices you’ve installed. However, the real benefit of the Harmony system is being able to coordinate them all and have them work in concert with the push of a single button. The Harmony passed every test and in some cases offered more control over a device than the original remote that came with the equipment. I could change inputs on my TV and even switch between surround sound modes on my receiver using the single Harmony remote.

The new vibration feedback feature is also a plus, and the tilt sensors mean the remote automatically wakes up when you pick it up . When you name a product the Ultimate, customers tend to have rather high expectations for it. In many ways the Harmony Ultimate is a dream remote, adding RF and Bluetooth capabilities to last year's infrared touch-screen model, the Harmony Touch. Neither RF nor Bluetooth require line-of-sight like IR, so your remote commands can literally pass through walls and doors, making the Ultimate ideal for users who have gear hidden away in closets and cabinets.
It's a sharp-looking, intuitive way to connect just about every digital device you in your home. Plus you'll still be able to flip through channels when you're using your smartphone for other things, like making a call. For the amount of power and flexibility it puts at your fingertips, the Harmony Ultimate Home is an easy Editors' Choice for universal remotes.

If you’re focused on entertainment but have an eye on the smart home future, the Logitech system is a good hedge against future obsolescence. Unfortunately, there’s still a marked paucity of smart-home products that Logitech can work with. For example, it works with one Honeywell thermostat, but not the Lyric model I was testing.
While listening to music, the channel buttons may change radio stations. I can't say I used the smartphone apps much other than to try them out because it's just easier grabbing the remote if it's there. I do think the apps can be improved a bit, and it would interesting to see what sort of interface Logitech could come up for tablets. Of course, it might not be so good to get into a dueling remote situation with a significant other or your kids. Via the Hub, and it turned out to be remarkably easy to incorporate them into my setup. You actually do it right from the remote rather than online and the lights don't appear in your saved settings online.
You can also customize the commands that appear on your screen. If your system is off, tapping a Favorite will start your Watch TV Activity and then tune to that channel. You can use Favorites to quickly navigate your on-screen TV guide as well.
Also always verify you're actually talking to the company in the job post and not an imposter. A good idea is to check the domain name for the site/email and see if it's the actual company's main domain name. When clicking on the button to apply above, you will leave Remote OK and go to the job application page for that company outside this site. Remote OK accepts no liability or responsibility as a consequence of any reliance upon information on there or here. Ultimately, there's a lot of screens and swiping on the remote; even after a few weeks, I still would get lost occasionally. I also found that the Hue lights were a bit slow to change brightness on occasion.
For a full list of supported devices, you can check out Logitech's site, but you're getting a lot of added value for the money. Unfortunately, you don't get support for popular connection protocols like Z-Wave and ZigBee out of the box. For that, you'll need to buy an extender Logitech is planning to release in the near future.
Of course, since the screen is pretty small, you're going to end up doing some scrolling to get to all your favorites if you add more than 20 or so. The initial setup process also guides you through making a list of your favorite channels for quick access while watching TV. The remote itself can display the proper channels and network logos if you enter your cable service provider or zip code, making it an excellent TV companion. Setup is even easier this time around, as it all takes place right from your smartphone (though you can still set things up on your computer using Logitech's Harmony Web app if you choose to do so). After charging the remote and finding a place for the Hub, you must download the Harmony app to your Android or iOS device.
